Boccia @ Villiers High School

Thursday 9th January 2020

On Thursday, six children from Year 3 and 4 went to Villiers High School for this year’s Boccia tournament.  Both teams did incredibly well. Team 1 (made up of children from Year 4) won their first three games and as a result won a well-deserved bronze medal for finishing in third place.  Team A (all from Year 3) managed to do even better and did amazingly well to finish in second place so they all got silver medals!

All of the children did a fantastic job of representing the school by showing respect to the other competitors and the organisers in addition to working very well together as a team.

“It was fun, challenging and intense.  It makes me want to do more sport.” Patrik, Bronze Class

Boccia – Thursday 6th December 2018

Before the competition, I was nervous about competing against other schools but I was excited as well.  At the Boccia competition it was hard at first because we had to play against 26 schools so we had to be focused when aiming for the Jack.  The matches went well and we only lost one game.  We improved as the day went on and we encouraged each other. At the end of the competition, they sat us down to give us the results and I was thrilled when they said that we had won!!!  It was an amazing day playing a great game like Boccia.
