BOYS CRICKET DEVELOPMENT YEAR 6
THURSDAY 23rd June
Spikes Bridge Park
Over the day we played 5 matches however the final match was just for fun. We played a seriously good team in our first match and sadly lost. By the end of the day, we had won two matches. We were lucky enough to get through to the quarter finals where we were eventually knocked out. However, we all had plenty of fun. Sajid was our captain and he gave us very good advice and was extremely supportive.
As we grew into the games, our fielding improved and we became more confident.
I do have a few regrets. If I was to play the games again, I would be more competitive as would the other members of my team.
The main thing was that we all had fun, tried our best and so went home happy. We all did really well.
I enjoyed it because it was my first tournament and it was a fantastic experience. All the skills we had learnt during PE and after school clubs really helped during the tournament and I could see that we had all significantly improved.
The standard this year was the best I have ever seen at a Year 6 cricket tournament so the boys did extremely well to make it to the quarter finals. Their bowling was exceptional!
