Forest School

Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment. Forest School supports the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.  Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of children, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners. Forest School offers learners the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves. Forest School opportunities are designed to build on an individual’s innate motivation, positive attitudes and/or interests.

We have been walking to our local woods at Cranleigh gardens to carry out our forest school lessons. We have learnt about many different types of birds on our walks and we have learnt about the amazing trees in our local area including a walnut tree!
