Transition to secondary school: webinar for parents/carers

Ealing Mental Health Support Team

The transition to secondary school can be a worrying time for Year 6 children and their parents/carers. The Ealing Mental Health Support Team support the wellbeing of children and young people in education settings and provide advice on how to support children transferring from primary to secondary schools.

 

 The Ealing Mental Health Support Team will be delivering workshops for parents/carers of Year 6 students to give ideas on how to support children to manage this next stage of their education. 

 

They will also be discussing how parents can manage their own emotions about their child moving to secondary school as well as transition for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

 

The workshop will last 1 hour with 15 minutes for questions. There will then be an extra 15 minutes at the end for parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and learning difficulties

 

The workshops will take place via Microsoft Teams video conferencing software (Microsoft Teams can be downloaded as a free app for phones, iPads/tablets, laptops/desktop computers) on the following dates:

Tuesday 12th July at 11am
Wednesday 17th August at  4:30pm
Monday 12th September at  5pm
