Information for parents and carers

Our school colours are royal blue, grey, black and white. At Tudor Primary School, we aim to ensure that our uniform is affordable, inclusive and practical for all children. All children can choose from the uniform options below. School-branded items are optional, and plain, unbranded alternatives can be purchased from any retailer.

Everyday school uniform

• Royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan (school logo optional).
• White polo shirt (school logo optional).
• Grey or black trousers or shorts.
• Grey or black skirt, or grey pinafore dress.
• Blue gingham dress during the summer term.
• Royal blue or black book bag (school logo optional).
• Black or white hijab (headscarf), where worn.

All children may choose from these options. Appropriate adaptations for religious, cultural, medical or disability-related needs will be considered.

PE kit

• Plain white T-shirt (school logo optional).
• Black PE shorts or black jogging bottoms.
• Suitable black trainers or plimsolls.
• Tracksuit for outdoor PE in colder weather.
• PE bag (school logo optional).
• Optional royal blue fleece with school logo; a plain, unbranded alternative is also acceptable.

Footwear

Children should wear plain black trainers without prominent branding or smart black school shoes with flat heels. Boots are not suitable as everyday indoor school footwear. During winter or wet weather, children may wear wellington boots or warm boots to school but must bring their school shoes to change into.

Labelling school uniform

All clothing and footwear should be clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.

This helps us return lost items to their owners.

Jewellery

For health and safety reasons, children should not wear jewellery at school. Where jewellery is worn for religious or cultural reasons, parents and carers should discuss this with the Headteacher. The school will consider individual circumstances and any necessary safety arrangements. Jewellery may need to be removed or made safe for PE and other physical activities.

Make-up and cosmetics

Make-up is not permitted unless the Headteacher has given permission for a specific event. Reasonable exceptions will be considered for medical or other individual needs.

Where to buy school uniform

Plain, unbranded uniform can be purchased from supermarkets, high-street shops or other retailers. Families do not need to buy items displaying the school logo. Optional branded uniform is available from the school’s uniform suppliers.

Second-hand school uniform

Tudor Primary School has a supply of second-hand uniform to help families reduce the cost of school clothing.

If parents or carers would like to access second-hand uniform, please speak to the school office staff.
