Science Week 2025 Change and Adapt poster Competition
Thu 06 Mar 2025Early years and primary – ‘Change and adapt’ poster competition.
The theme for 2025 is ‘Change and adapt, – there are loads of STEM topics to be explored. Pupils could create a poster showing how plants and animals adapt to changing seasons or surroundings, or how humans have adapted to changing technology. They could look at climate change and how we can adapt our behaviours to protect the environment, or their favourite science experiment and how it shows change.
The more creative the interpretation of the theme, the better!
This year, the competition will close for entries on Thursday 3 April 2025.

World Book Day
Sat 01 Mar 2025Dear Parents/Carers,
We are excited to celebrate World Book Day with a fantastic line-up of visiting authors and engaging activities for the children!
On Wednesday, 5th March 2025, we will be welcoming author Wendy Shearer, who will be sharing stories from her books African and Caribbean Folktales, Myths & Legends and Black Tales from the Past.
On Friday, 7th March 2025, we will have two more inspiring authors joining us: Sufiya Ahmed (Noor Inayat Khan & Princess Sophia Singh) and Annemarie Anang (I Am Nefertiti).
World Book Day Dress-Up – Thursday, 6th March 2025
To celebrate the magic of storytelling, children are invited to dress up according to their allocated year group themes:
- Early Years: Disney or fairy tale characters
- Year 1 & 2: Storybook animals (e.g., fox, frog, sheep, Peter Rabbit, Jungle Book)
- Year 3 & 4: Marvel comic characters (spiderman, hulk, Captain America, Thor)
- Year 5 & 6: Mythical beasts (Dragon, Banshee, Bigfoot, Minotaur, Wolf, Mermaid)
We encourage creativity, and making an eco-friendly costume using recycled materials would be a wonderful way to get involved sustainably!
