School Travel Plan
Working with the TfL Travel for Life team, we are working towards improving the health and well-being of the pupils, parents and staff; reducing the pollution and congestion around the school as well as saving money for parents and the community.
A school travel plan demonstrates a school’s commitment to improving local road safety and air quality by planning out actions and targets to address its particular travel needs. The aim is to shift the school community away from using cars for the school commute, and to encourage sustainable modes of travel, such as walking, cycling, scooting and public transport.
The whole school community gets involved, including pupils, parents, teachers and governors, which means it can be an exciting project that is integrated into the life and ethos of the school. Promotes life skills, supports the curriculum and improves safety around the school.
TfL Travel for Life Scheme provides a great platform for schools to develop their own travel plan.

Accreditation
Schools can apply for accreditation and win either bronze, silver or gold awards for achievements throughout the year depending on the number of activities that are delivered.
Accreditation isn't just a badge, it's a way to show your school community, current and prospective parents, current and prospective staff and OFSTED the value you place on a healthy, safe and empowering school environment.
