Start high school in September 2025

Children currently in year 6 are due to transfer from primary to high school (Year 7) in September 2025.

Key dates

Friday 25 October 2024 – recommended submission date If you are making a paper application you are advised to submit this to your child’s primary school by 25 October.

Primary schools will be closed for half term from Monday 28 October to Friday 1 November 2024.

Thursday 31 October 2024 – closing date for applications If you apply online, you will have up until 11.59pm on 31 October to submit your application.

If you are applying on a paper application form you will need to ensure this is received by the admissions service by 31 October.

Thursday 12 December 2024 - deadline for late applications If you apply after the 31 October but before the 12 December and have recently moved or have exceptional circumstances for applying late you must contact the school admissions service to see if your application can be on-time.

Monday 3 March 2025 – high school national offer day If you apply on-time on the eadmisisons portal, you will receive an email between 5pm and 10pm with your school offer.

If you made an on-time paper application your offer letter will be posted to you, first class. Monday 17 March 2025 – deadline to respond to offer After this date, the eadmisisons portal will close and you will not be able to accept or decline your offer online. If you do not respond the offer may be withdrawn and offered to another child.
