Art Competition - Every Breath We Take (Air pollution)

Every Breath We Take is a campaign aiming to raise awareness about the critical issue of air pollution and to inspire change through community engagement, artistic expression, and education.

As part of this campaign, we are conducting an art competition, which includes a category for young artists aged 5-18 years.

Children are encouraged to create a piece of art reflects the importance of clean air in our city.

All art pieces will be exhibited from 27 May – 7 June 2024 across the Westway estate; 23 acres of community land underneath the Westway flyover in North Kensington (London).

In the Youth Category, we will be offering four prizes of £250 to the entries which best meet the following criteria:

1. Ability to inspire action and/or raise awareness of the issues relating to poor air quality in London. This could include (but not limited to) issues addressed at www.everybreathwetake.london/factsandfigures

2. Artistic merit.

3. Story-telling ability. For example, this could be the story that links our urban landscapes, or one that demonstrates the resilience of our communities.

4. Expressions of hope, resilience, and transformation.
