Press Release Tudor Primary School Celebrates Another Eco-Schools Green Flag Triumph!
Wed 02 Jul 2025This academic year, pupils at Tudor Primary School have continued to lead the way in promoting sustainability and raising environmental awareness among their school community, including peers, staff members, and the wider local community. Their exceptional efforts have once again been recognised with the prestigious, internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation.
The Eco-Schools programme, established in 1994, has been inspiring young environmentalists for over 30 years. It has grown into a global movement, with Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation awarded to schools in more than 100 countries. In England alone, the programme reaches over 1 million young people each year, empowering them to make a positive impact on our planet.
Since Tudor Primary School first began their sustainability journey in 2024, their accomplishments have included a distinction Award in 2024. They first conducted a thorough review of their school environment and curriculum before developing a year-long plan of action. Their Action Plan focused on 3 key issues: Reduce, Repurpose & Refuse and activities included Energy Audit, Recycling & Reducing Carbon Footprint.
This year, pupils built impressively on previous successes by focusing on three key areas: Biodiversity, Energy, and Waste. Collaboratively, they developed a detailed, year-long action plan to address these priorities with real impact.
To tackle energy consumption, they worked towards reducing the school’s carbon footprint and successfully achieved a Grade C Energy Rating. For biodiversity, they launched a vibrant Growing Garden project, planting wildflowers and vegetables to enhance the school environment and support local wildlife. In addressing waste, pupils led a creative upcycling initiative that culminated in a grand fashion show featuring repurposed clothing. They also introduced a paper recycling programme to reduce everyday waste in classrooms.
Speaking about their achievements, staff member Miss Besely, the Eco Lead, said, “The Eco Council has demonstrated outstanding commitment to our sustainability goals. By staying true to our Eco Code, they’ve proven that even the smallest actions can lead to meaningful change.”
Eco-Schools England Manager, Adam Flint, expressed: "Every year, we are amazed by the incredible efforts of young people working together to create a better future for all. Their collective impact is truly remarkable. If everyone approached the climate crisis with the same level of passion and determination, we could resolve it much faster and make it a problem of the past. At Keep Britain Tidy, we are delighted to recognise their achievements with the Eco-Schools Green Flag."

Press Release Sustainability Champions: Tudor Primary Early Years Receives Eco-Schools Green Flag
Wed 02 Jul 2025This academic year, children and staff members at Tudor Primary have led the way in the early years of environmental education and sustainability. Their exceptional efforts have been recognised with the prestigious, internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation.
The Eco-Schools programme, established in 1994, has been inspiring young environmentalists for over 30 years. It has grown into a global movement, with Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation awarded to settings in more than 100 countries. In England alone, the programme reaches over 1 million young people each year, empowering them to make a positive impact on our planet.
At Tudor Primary School, staff members took responsibility for making their site more sustainable by planting and growing their own vegetables and enhancing their garden to attract biodiversity. Children in their nursery also proved that you’re never too young to make a difference, getting involved in their Eco-Schools work by growing, planting, and participating in forest school, as well as creating artwork with natural materials.
Speaking about their achievements, staff member Mrs Chaggar had led the project for the nursery setting and led a hands-on growing project with the Nursery children.

Report on Recent Successful Sports Competitions
Fri 13 Jun 2025We are thrilled to share the fantastic results from our recent sports competitions, where our talented students demonstrated remarkable skills and teamwork!
First up, our Year 3 and 4 girls’ football team achieved an impressive third place at the girls’ football competition. Their journey was a nail-biter as they narrowly lost in the semi-finals on penalties. Rahma and Ilaja stood out as two of the best players in the entire competition, showcasing their fantastic abilities.
Similarly, our Year 6 girls’ cricket team also finished third in their competition. The tremendous progress they made in their PE lessons truly shone through, with excellent bowling and batting skills on display. They were a real credit to the school!
And what a performance from the Year 6 boys’ cricket team, who remarkably won their competition! Their focus and problem-solving skills were exceptional, especially during a thrilling semi-final where they were down by 23 runs with only three balls left. Team captain Zain pulled off an incredible win by scoring 25 runs, demonstrating quick thinking and superb technique.
Not only did they secure victory, but the boys also made history as the first Tudor team to win a cricket tournament. What a proud moment for us all!
